eSUN PLA-Wood Oak Filament 1 kg

Description esun pla-wood oak filament 1 kg

eSUN PLA-Wood Oak Filament 1 kg

eSUN PLA-Wood Oak is a decorative PLA-based filament with a wood-like effect, matte surface and natural Oak shade. Oak is a classic wood tone for models that need a natural, warm and more wooden-looking appearance without strong plastic gloss.

Important package detail: this product card specifies the filament on a plastic spool, not a cardboard spool. A plastic spool is convenient for stable feeding, storage, reuse, dry boxes and spool holders.

🌳 Main advantages

  • Oak shade: a natural oak wood-like color for decorative models, mockups and interior prints.
  • Wood-like appearance: printed parts look warmer and more natural than standard PLA models.
  • Matte surface: helps reduce plastic gloss and gives the finished model a softer visual finish.
  • PLA-based material: easier to print than engineering filaments and does not require an enclosed chamber.
  • Plastic spool: not cardboard, more practical for feeding, storage and filament drying.
  • Post-processing friendly: prints can be sanded, painted, stained, varnished or used as a base for wood imitation.

βš™οΈ Recommended Printing Parameters

Parameter Recommended value
Nozzle temperature 210–235 ℃
Bed temperature 45–60 ℃; for PEI, 55–65 ℃ can be used as a starting range
Printing speed up to 150 mm/s, but 20–60 mm/s is better for a clean wood-like texture
Best speed for reducing stringing 20–30 mm/s
Fan speed 100%
Recommended nozzle size 0.4 / 0.6 / 0.8 mm
Drying before printing 55 ℃ for more than 8 hours if moisture, bubbles or stringing appear
Build surface PEI, textured PEI, glass with adhesive or another PLA-compatible surface

Printing tip: PLA-Wood may string more than regular PLA. If hairs, oozing or strings appear between parts, reduce nozzle temperature, lower speed, dry the spool and tune retraction.

🧩 Best applications

  • πŸͺ΅ Decorative oak wood-effect models.
  • πŸ›οΈ Architectural models and interior parts.
  • 🎨 Art objects, design pieces and sculptures.
  • 🌿 Vases, planters, souvenirs and gifts.
  • 🎭 Cosplay props and fake wooden parts.
  • 🧸 Figurines, miniatures and desktop accessories.
  • πŸͺ‘ Decorative parts with furniture, oak, vintage or natural wood styling.

βœ… 3D printer compatibility

eSUN PLA-Wood Oak is compatible with most FDM/FFF 3D printers that use 1.75 mm filament and support a 210–235 ℃ nozzle temperature range. It can be used with Creality Ender/K1, Bambu Lab A1/P1/X1, Prusa, Anycubic Kobra, Elegoo Neptune, Sovol, QIDI, Flashforge and other popular 3D printers.

For high-speed printers, do not start at maximum speed immediately. First print a temperature and retraction test, because wood-effect PLA is more sensitive to moisture, temperature and travel speed.

πŸ› οΈ Printing recommendations

  • Print a temperature tower in the 210–235 ℃ range before a large model.
  • For a clean surface and attractive wood-like texture, start at 20–60 mm/s.
  • If hairs or stringing appear, reduce temperature and speed.
  • Dry the filament if it has been stored open for a long time.
  • Use 100% fan speed for clean overhangs.
  • Tune Z seam alignment to make the seam less visible on decorative models.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel moves across the outer wall of the model.
  • The Oak shade looks especially good on relief surfaces, wood-texture models, larger smooth shapes and decorative elements.

πŸ“¦ Storage

  • Store the spool in a dry place, preferably in a sealed bag or dry box with desiccant.
  • Do not leave the filament exposed in a humid room for a long time.
  • The plastic spool is convenient for storage, reuse and installation in spool holders.
  • If the material starts bubbling, popping or stringing, dry it before printing.

❓ FAQ

Is this filament supplied on a plastic or cardboard spool?

This product card specifies eSUN PLA-Wood Oak 1 kg on a plastic spool, not a cardboard spool.

What color is Oak?

Oak is a natural wood-like shade. It is suitable for decorative models, architectural models, souvenirs, vases and interior prints.

Does PLA-Wood need drying before printing?

If the spool is new and was vacuum sealed, it can usually be printed immediately. If the filament was stored open and shows bubbles, rough surface or strong stringing, dry it at 55 ℃ for more than 8 hours.

Why does PLA-Wood string?

The wood-like effect and active foaming behavior may increase stringing. Reduce nozzle temperature, lower speed, dry the spool and tune retraction.

Can PLA-Wood prints be painted and sanded?

Yes. PLA-Wood is suitable for decorative post-processing, including sanding, painting, staining and varnishing.
